When the project moved from concept to execution, what was the first assumption that broke — and how did that reshape your architecture decisions?

In our earliest industrial design explorations, we worked with several architects and designers on concepts that included LEDs integrated into the back cover. It looked great and would have been a memorable signature feature, but it quickly turned into an architectural headache.

Some initial concepts

First, we had to be honest about safety and durability. Poorly controlled lighting can create heat buildup, which raises real concerns around battery safety and the long-term integrity of the chassis. On top of that, making the feature feel truly “built-in” would likely require deeper operating-system-level integration, and anything that touches that layer increases the attack surface and complicates security hardening.
